The board is happy to welcome Betty Domer and Kimberly Mohs to the board.
K. Domer retired from Northeast Utilities (NU) in 2006 having focused
on NU’s sales to large corporations and institutions of electricity
and natural gas on the open market. In addition, she possesses
nearly a half century of experience in community involvement having
served on a multitude of boards of directors for organizations with
missions varying from civic, humanitarian, performing arts and
behavioral health. She is past chair of Leadership Greater Hartford,
Community Health Resources and Village Players, Inc. Her most recent
distinctions are the AARP
Connecticut Partner Program Volunteer of the Year (2011), New England
Patriots Community MVP Award (2007) and Best Supporting Actress
Little Theatre of Manchester 2006 season.
Kimberly Mohs is graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY, BS in Computer Science & Psychology Minor in Financial Technology. working for Hartford Financial Services Group since 2009 in Technical Leadership Development Program. Coach for Special Olympics teams in Middletown, RPI Women's mentor, Ballroom Dance Team Co-Captain/Treasurer, Undergraduate Recruitment Committee for Computer Science.

Hartford Youth Dance Initiative, Inc. is excited to announce a new ballroom dance program at the Hartford Arts Center. The classes will be taught by our ballroom dance instructor, Kimberly Mohs beginning May 2013. Click on menu item "Summer News" to read about young professionals teaching ballroom dance to Hartford area youth.

The board would like to welcome Keenum Staniszewski as a new board member. He brings advertising, marketing, video production and editing skills to the board. He also brings knowledge and training from 9 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. A recent graduate, Cum Laude, coursework in Aeronautics, Management, Business, Accounting and Finance.

The board is happy to welcome Tashana Mullings to the board. She enjoys working with youth. She has communication, leadership, and organizational skills. She also does website design and maintenance and skilled in social media.
Tashana has graciously accepted the position as Secretary to fill the vacancy of out going board member Cheryl Racco. Rose Nolan has accepted position of President to fill the vacancy of out going board member Judy Benvenuto. We are saddened to loose Cheryl and Judy but so very grateful for their past years of dedication and service. We also regret to accept the resignation of our newest board members Barbara and Ken Merrifield. Their one year of service in fund raising efforts and volunteer hours with their employer matching programs has made it possible for the organization to fund the inter-district after school ballroom dance program at the Hartford YMCA.

Hartford Youth Dance Initiative, Inc.is funding an innovative program to partner with the Greater Hartford Arts Council (GHAC) to introduce ballroom dancing to literally thousands of second grade students in Hartford. This program takes a “teach the teacher” approach. Hartford Youth Dance Initiative is proud to fund this program through Hartford Performs – Greater Hartford Arts Council.

On January 3rd, 2012 Michèle M. Evans made the difficult decision to resign as artistic director of Hartford Youth Dance Initiative, Inc.. We are grateful for her leadership, creativity, and inspiration. Countless children have benefited from her years of selfless dedication.
